On our
way home from the Black Hills we stopped at Pioneer Auto Show and Antique Town
at Murdo, South Dakota. If you travel across
South Dakota
on interstate 90, we highly recommend stopping there. It was a very nice
facility, nothing fancy, but they had a least 200 cars and 50 old tractors
dating back to 1900. Plus
there were displays of everything antique you could think of. While there I was
reminded of our changing world. Here
I am trying to get the mixture right so my foam markers on my sprayer will work
and most everyone else is talking GPS. I plant with a planter with markers and
again most people talk GPS. I sure don’t have auto guide. I drive my tractors
and combine down the rows with the steering wheel!! A Global Positioning System
is great, but is sure leaves me out.
The next
meeting will be Tuesday July 13th at
7:00 p.m.
at Yorktown Hall.
Our
tractor drive that was to be held June 5th is rescheduled for July 10th,
leaving New Market at
9:15 a.m.
We know everyone is busy now, but hope you have time for this drive, as it will
be a lot of fun. If there are any questions call Junior McCall at 542-4244 or
Dean Goudie at 523-2893.
Local
events for the 4th of July will be a tractor show held in front of
the National Guard Armory on
Ferguson
road in Shenandoah from
10 am
. To
4 p.m.
Also there will be parades in Bedford and New Market.
Hope to see you at one of these.
Our
summer tractor cruise will be held in Northboro, August 7th.
The drive will leave at
1 P.M.
in the afternoon and return to Northboro for a covered dish dinner with
entertainment buy Ron Burson in the air-conditioned
Northboro hall. Further details will
be discussed at the next meeting.
Be sure
to enjoy the summer thrashing shows! See you on the 13th.
